Be it resolved that this General Synod:

Encourage parishes across the country to engage in commemorative activities to mark the 50^th Anniversary of the 1962 Canadian Book of Common Prayer in 2012.

EXPLANATORY NOTE/BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The year 2012 will mark the 50th anniversary of the 1962 Canadian Book of Common Prayer, and the 350th anniversary of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer; and WHEREAS, “The Book of Common Prayer is a priceless possession of our Church” (BCP p. vii) and has spiritually nourished generations of Anglicans around the world.
