GS2001 logo, Illustration and design by Mervin Wolfleg

Mervin Wolfleg, photo by Kathy Blair The logo for General Synod 2001 was designed by Rev. Mervin Wolfleg (right) of St. Barnabas parish, Tsuu Tina Nation, diocese of Calgary. The braided sweetgrass in the shape of a stained glass window also contains three circles representing the trinity, Mr. Wolf Leg told Council of General Synod. It also represents 'healing beyond our human ways,' he added. The three circles are something of an optical illusion, said Mr. Wolf Leg, who added that he was influenced by the work of artist M.C. Escher.
