PROCEDURES FOR ELECTION OF PROLOCUTOR AND DEPUTY PROLOCUTOR OF THE GENERAL SYNOD

  1. Job description of Prolocutor and Deputy Prolocutor as well as nomination forms will be mailed to delegates in the Convening Circular.
  1. Nominations for Prolocutor, in writing, with nominees consent and biographical background will be accepted by the Chair of the Nominating Committee until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 20, 2007.
  1. The candidates will be introduced following the close of nominations.  Biographical information will be available at the end of the evening session, 9:00 p.m., Wednesday June 20, 2007.
  1. Voting, with a majority being required for election, will take place at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 21, 2007.  Upon the election of a Prolocutor, nominations will be called for Deputy Prolocutor and will be accepted until 9:00 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2007.
  1. The candidates will be introduced at the beginning of the morning session, 9:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2007.  Biographical information will be available.
  1. Voting, with a majority being required for election, will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2007.
  1. Provincial caucuses will meet to elect members for the Council of General Synod at 8:15 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2007.
