Resolution A031 Amendments to the Constitution - Youth Members on the Council of General Synod This resolution was carried. moved by: James Sweeny from the Diocese of Quebec Note: The mover and the seconder must be members of the General Synod and be present in the House when the resolution is before the synod for debate. BE IT RESOLVED: That section 33(a)(vi) of the Constitution of the General Synod be amended to read :
and that section 33(f)(ii) of the Constitution be amended to read:
EXPLANATORY NOTE/BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Act 87 of the General Synod 1998 directed the the Council of General Synod to consider changing the membership of the Council to include one youth member from each Ecclesiastical Province, such members to be nominated by provincial caucuses. The Council recommends that the membership of the Council be changed accordingly. The proposed amendments to the Constitution provide for th election of the four youth members and for the filling of any vacancy in their number between synods.
