Information Resources Committee - Terms of Reference

Note: The mover and the seconder must be members of the General Synod and be present in the House when the resolution is before the synod for debate.

BE IT RESOLVED:

That General Synod confirm the following amendments of the Terms of Reference of the Information Resources Committee as adopted by the Council of General Synod in March 2001:

1. In Part A - Duties and Responsibilities - delete the words "Resource Centre" where they appear in paragraph (d);


2. In Part C.II - Information Services Sub-Committee - amend the definition following the heading to read: (Includes work done through the Archives, Circulation/Data Management and Library);


3. In Part C.II delete paragraph (iv) which reads "review and approve Resource Centre acquisitions policy) and renumber paragraphs (v) to (vii) to be paragraphs (iv) to (vi)..

EXPLANATORY NOTE/BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The Terms of Reference of standing committees of the General Synod, if not established by Canon, are adopted and amended by the Council of General Synod subject to confirmation by the General Synod at its next regular session. The Council has amended the Terms of Reference of the Information Resources Committee to eliminate references to the Resource Centre which was discontinued in 2000. The Synod is asked to confirm the amendments.
