Subject: Amendment to Canon XII - Continuing Education Plan

Note: The mover and the seconder must be members of the General Synod and be present in the House when the resolution is before the synod for debate.
BE IT RESOLVED:
That Section 6 (b) of Canon XII be amended by adding the words:
"... or in such other fund as the Pension Committee considers appropriate".
Section 6(b) would then read:
The Continuing Education Funds shall be invested in the Consolidated Trust Fund of the Anglican Church of Canada or in such other fund as the Pension Committee considers appropriate.
EXPLANATORY NOTE/BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The committee restructuring at the 1995 General Synod assigned responsibility for the Continuing Education Plan to the Pension Committee. That Committee has asked for this flexibility regarding the investment of funds. They remain funds held in trust by the General Synod, and administered by the Pension Committee.
