Special thanks to those who helped Synod98 Live! come alive

A number of people helped in making General Synod's first official electronic news coverage happen:

  • Alan Perry, for helping coordinate logistics and suppling the Internet connection and digital camera.

  • Amanda Kerr, for loaning me her laptop when she knows darned well I forget things like, oh, where I put important things.  (I promise it'll come home, Mandy!)

  • Keith Nunn in Toronto for managing the ACC side of the site, contributing superb graphics for both sites, and maintaining news releases in the Anglican News Services area.

  • The Rev. Canon Paul Feheley, rector of St. George's Oshawa, a first-time member who is allowing us to see Synod through his eyes in our special Diary of a Newbie feature.

  • Timothy Morgan: One of the original Anglicans Online followers who still has the world's keenest eye for typos.

  • Beric Farmer: Back in Toronto on the server end, keeping things humming, whirring, and clicking.

  • Doug Tindal, for apparently scribbling a note down three years ago when I casually mentioned in the June 5, 1995 issue of my unofficial Synod newsletters: "Perhaps next Synod, the church will let me come to General Synod and do nothing but electronic networking."  And his gentle prodding and enthusiastic support of the concept and project.

  • The Rev. June Maffin, besides being a good priest, is also the best mom anyone can have.   (Yes, I'm wearing a jacket at night.)

  • Brian Reid and Cynthia McFarland at Anglicans Online, my digital alma mater, for giving such great plugs to this project.

  • All the Anglican parish webmasters across the country who placed links to Synod98 Live! on their site and information in their parish bulletins on May 17.

  • My friends at work (Emerge Online Inc.) on whom I am relying for technical help and the occasional "attaboy."

  • The Apostle Paul, who told a young priest named Timothy: "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity."

  • And music for energy when passing out seems more logical than plugging in.  Inspiration is gained from: "I'll Lead You Home" by Michael W. Smith, and the soundtracks to the musicals Annie, Chicago, and Guys and Dolls.

To all of you... thanks!
