Canadian work on the Anglican Covenant

Members of the Anglican Communion are currently discerning how they can stay together in light of current stresses, including the blessing of same-sex unions in one Canadian diocese and the consecration of a gay bishop in the U.S. Episcopal church.

One way of addressing these challenges is a proposed Anglican Covenant, which would define the relationships between provinces of the Anglican Communion. The Anglican Communion Working Group, chaired by Bishop George Bruce, coordinates Canadian responses to the covenant, and Dr. Eileen Scully, coordinator for ministry and worship at General Synod, is a member of the Communion’s Covenant Design Group.

The Anglican Covenant is part of a larger process, called the Windsor Process.
